Braedon Kellner

Chef Braedon Kellner, a chef whose journey is as rich and textured as the cuisine he creates.

Growing up in Carmel, Indiana, Braedon's first restaurant job was at Oakley's Bistro. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

From there, his career took him to Charleston, South Carolina, where he refined his craft at The Ocean Room on Kiawah Island. Over five years, he mastered the discipline of fine dining, cooking alongside culinary legends like Charlie Trotter, Patrick O’Connell, Norman Van Aken, Sean Brock, and Mike Lata. He later joined the opening team at Stars Grillroom & Rooftop Bar on Charleston’s renowned King Street before returning home to Indiana.

Braedon helped open The Alexander Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Soon after, he became the opening Executive Chef of Tinker Street, where his thoughtful, creative cooking helped shape one of the city’s most beloved restaurants. Later as Executive Chef, he brought vision and artistry to Modita, further cementing his reputation as one of Indianapolis’s most creative and respected chefs.

The new menu at Freeland’s is a culmination of his journey: an opus of his greatest hits, reimagined with wisdom, grace, and artistry.
